Question #1: What should I do if I have an emergency?
Answer: To maximize our ability to see patients in their homes WE CANNOT PROVIDE
EMERGENCY SERVICES. If you believe you have a medical emergency, do not waste
precious time contacting the doctor’s office — CONTACT 911 IMMEDIATELY.
Question #2: What are the doctor’s hours of operation?
Answer: House Call Docs, CS operates like a doctor’s office in your
home. Our office hours are between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., M—F.
Question #3: What insurance does House Call Docs, CS accept?
Answer: House Call Docs, CS accepts Medicare insurance, plus most other
primary and supplemental insurances.
Question #4: When is the doctor available?
Answer: The doctor is available on regularly scheduled days in your residential
complex. The doctor will make every effort to schedule an appointment for acute conditions
— non-emergency — within 48 hours of your call.
Question #5: Do house calls cost more than a regular office visit?
Answer: House Call Docs, CS charges the amount allowable by Medicare and
adds NO extra or hidden charges. You still need to pay any coinsurances and deductibles you might
have under your insurance plan.
Question #6: How are my prescription needs handled?
Answer: The doctor can provide you with a traditional written prescription, call
the prescription in to your pharmacy, or electronically transmit (preferably) your prescriptions to your
pharmacy.
Question #7: What do I do if I need lab work or X-rays?
Answer: Most laboratory specimens can be collected, and X-rays performed, in your
home. If other procedures are needed, the doctor will instruct you on scheduling an appointment at a local
hospital or imaging center.
Question #8: What if I should need additional home health care?
Answer: House Call Docs, CS coordinates with home health agencies and facility
managers to help you maintain independent living.
Question #9: What if I see specialists for other medical concerns?
Answer: Your doctor will communicate with all of your other doctors to maintain
continuity of care.
Question #10: What if my family has questions or concerns about my care?
Answer: Your doctor will communicate, with your permission, with
your children and other family members to give them peace of mind.
Question #11: What hospitals am I allowed to select?
Answer: Your insurance may require you to go to a specific hospital, but
House Call Docs, CS does not.
Question #12: Who takes care of me while I am in the hospital?
Answer: Most hospitals utilize a specialist called a “Hospitalist” once you are
admitted. The Hospitalist and your house call doctor will communicate while you are hospitalized.
Your house call doctor will then resume your care once you are discharged.
