Julie L. Halling, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Halling is a board
certified Family Practitioner. She has been practicing
medicine — including primary care, geriatrics, urgent care, and
emergency medicine — since 1996. This varied medical
background has given Dr. Halling a unique perspective on the medical
needs of the geriatric patient.
Dr. Halling has also been an
Associate Professor of Family Practice at the University of Kansas
Medical Center, from where she obtained both her Ph.D. (in
microbiology) and M.D. She recently relocated to colorado springs with
her husband, Bill, and their three children.
Dr. Halling is a strong
advocate of preventive health measures. She encourages a
health maintenance program that includes regular physical
examinations, as well as laboratory screening tests, annual testing
such as mammography or prostate examination, annual colon cancer
screening, and the ongoing promotion of a healthy lifestyle.
She is also a strong believer in partnership between physician and
patient when it comes to the treatment of acute and chronic medical
problems.
